About Us

“For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

We are a welcoming Christian community located in Melville

Together, we seek to worship God faithfully, grow in faith and godliness, and share the good news of salvation with our neighbours. We meet each Sunday to worship, and to encourage and support one another as we learn to live lives centred on Jesus, our Saviour.

Our Mission

It is our mission to proclaim Christ so that God might bring believers together as His people, growing in faith, and reflecting His love through worship, service, and everyday life.

The Supremacy of God

We believe that everything exists for God’s glory. Our lives, our church, and all that we do are ultimately about honouring Him. As Scripture reminds us, all things are from Him, through Him, and for Him (Romans 11:36). This shapes our worship, our priorities, and the way we live.

Salvation by Grace Alone through Faith Alone

We believe that salvation is entirely God’s work. It is not something we can earn or achieve, but a gift of grace, received through faith. As it says in (Ephesians 2:8–9), we are saved by grace through faith – not by our own efforts – so that all glory belongs to God.

The Centrality of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is at the centre of everything. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He alone has accomplished our salvation. He is the one mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5), and the focus of our worship, our teaching, and our hope.

The Authority of the Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word – true, trustworthy, and sufficient for all of life and faith. As written in (2 Timothy 3:16), Scripture is given by God and is useful for teaching, guiding, and shaping how we live. It is the foundation we build our lives upon.

Meet our Pastor

Pastor Kelvin Dekker

Pastor Kelvin serves as the pastor of our congregation. He is married to Amy and God has blessed them with 5 children: Abigail, Nathaniel, Theodore, Benedict and Tobias.

Kelvin grew up in a Christian home and by God’s grace was raised in the arms of the church and in the knowledge of the gospel. His journey into gospel ministry began in 2011 when the Lord called him to commit his life to Jesus Christ. In considering how to use his gifts and life to serve the Lord, he began prerequisite studies to be a preacher of the Word of God in 2012. He completed his Master of Divinity at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary in 2020 and subsequently served a congregation in Albany from 2020 to 2025. He has been our pastor since October 2025.

His ministry is centred on the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, leading the congregation in worship and sacraments, and pastoral care for God’s people. His highlight each week is gathering with God’s people on the Lord’s Day and worshipping with God’s people.

Have a question or would like to get in touch? Pastor Kelvin would be glad to hear from you. Please see his contact details below.
